Disney Day 3 - Magic Kingdom (Part 2)

It is very hard to top our first day at the Magic Kingdom, but any day spent there is simply amazing!  Our entrance was slightly different this go around.  When we arrived at the park just before 9:00, it was packed.  We waited in line for the park to open...amazing how the heat and humidity of Florida can make you drip with sweat...anyway, it was well worth the wait.  I loved the grand opening show.  The townspeople welcomed Mickey and friends with song and dance as they arrived on the train at Liberty Station.  Once their performance was over, they opened the gates, and our day began.

We spent our morning in Tomorrow Land.  Both children wanted to ride the Astro Orbiter and the Speedway.  Liam was SO excited to "drive" the cars.  He kept talking about what color car he wanted.  We ended up in a yellow car with Liam in the driver's seat.  He kept jerking the wheel like crazy, which in turn whipped him from side to side.  It wasn't long until he gave up the wheel.  Makayla, on the other hand, was Seth's chauffeur the entire ride.  Her driving skills were quite like Liam's (unbeknownst to her) and her final comment was, "That was a bumpy road!"

We kept our morning at Magic Kingdom fairly short, as we were anticipating Makayla's appointment at the Boutique.  But before we left, we met a few characters.  Mickey and Minnie were the big hits.  Both kids were just giddy getting to meet them.  I promised Makayla that if we got to meet Mickey, I would kiss him on the nose.  We did, and I followed through.  Let's just say, Minnie was none too happy.  We also met Pinocchio.

The Bibbidi Bobbidi Botique was quite the experience.  Makayla was treated like a little princess...cliche, I know.  She was taken in, given options for hair, make-up, and nails, and her "fairy godmother in training" went to work.  Liam loved staring at all of the pretty little girls, and flirting with the godmothers.  Makayla sat so still taking it all in, and suddenly she became so shy.  It was kind of cute.  She was adorned with jewels, glitter nail polish and lip gloss, and her hair was coated with "jellyfish jell" and pixie dust.

We spent the rest of the afternoon meeting princesses (yes, Liam got another kiss from Cinderella), watching (and dancing in) parades, and watching a show in front of Cinderella's castle.  We left prior to dusk so we could make our way to do some sightseeing in downtown Disney.

Worn out after a long day!

Next stop, Epcot.
