3D Ultrasound

Seth and I went to the doctor's today for my 28 week appointment. We also had a 3D ultrasound done. Our little man was not camera shy, and posed for many pictures. We giggled as we realized how much he appeared to look like Makayla...although, his nose looks slightly different. Here's our little cutie.

What a BIG girl!

Makayla is slowly transitioning out of her high chair and moving on to a real fork. She enjoys sitting between Mommy and Daddy at meal time and showing off her independence. She's learning about saying grace, and when we're finished she says, "Let's eat!"

She has a way of always making me giggle. I love that about her!

the progression...gotta love the sports setting on the camera

YUM!

Goin' Green!

Makayla was all decked out for St. Patty's Day, and did she ever ham it up! She loved her shamrock glasses and kept commenting, "It's dark...it's dark!" When we got in the car, she talked about her tights, her sweater, her beads, and I even heard her say, "pretty." I think she liked the get up! :) I must say, I think she was looking pretty cute!

19 months and 26 weeks

Makayla is 19 months old already...we're closing in on the two year mark. She's starting to show some signs of the "terrible twos." This has been challenging for me, as she tries to test and manipulate me more than anyone else. I've been standing my ground. I'd rather take the extra time now to teach her what we expect of her, than to be cleaning up bigger mistakes as she gets older. On the flip side, because we spend so much time together, I'm also the one who gets to rake in many of her hugs and kisses. Gotta love that!

showing her emotions at the breakfast table...where many of our battles occur :)

settled down reading a book at the end of the day...warms a mama's heart

I am 26 weeks pregnant. I'm feeling great. I've slacked a little on my exercises lately, but have gotten a lot of rest...give and take. Our little man is not quite the "mover and shaker" that Makayla was in the womb, so it will be interesting to see if this is reflective of his personality. I have my next doctor's appointment on the 25th, on which they will perform a 3D ultrasound. That should be exciting!!!

Night at the Museum

After a tasty meal at Jess', we headed off to the children's museum. This was our first trip there...we all had a good time. Makayla didn't know where to start. She loves to explore and play, so she was in heaven. It seemed her favorite part was going down the slide from the barn loft. We got a few good chuckles watching her come down.

I just loved being able to step back and observe. As a teacher, I'm always observing children, but as a mom it's different. I just love to soak up every moment and try learn as much as I can about her likes/dislikes, interests, and personality just by watching her play. It is mesmerizing!

Musikgarten

Monday nights, Makayla gets geared up for "cass." She loves to go to music class. She loves to sing and dance and play with bells and shaker eggs. She has always had a love for music, but it's so fun to see her enjoy it even more with her teacher and peers.

Seuss Day Celebration

What a treat it was to have ANOTHER snow day on Monday. The highlight for Makayla was to go to Dr. Seuss's birthday party. She made a Cat in the Hat hat, listened to stories, ate green eggs and ham and cake, and attempted to get her face painted. She was joined by her three cousins, which made it even more enjoyable for her.
