Daddy's Little Hokie(s)

I always love to pick out clothes for the children to wear each day (Makayla is starting to enjoy this as well)...and should count my blessings that they have so many clothes, but it's always especially fun to see Seth's reactions when I dress the children in Hokie gear. He is pretty prideful about his alma mater.

Little Liam Hokie

He's filling out and approaching TWELVE pounds...so hard to believe!

Makayla just days old wearing the same outfit.

Like father, like son...didn't realize until the end of the day that they were dressed alike!

Where have the past 23 months gone?

I cannot believe our little girl is 23 months old...almost 2 years old! Liam is 1 month old...Wow!

Updates on Makayla...

She continues to be sillier and sillier every day...could that be because she's been home with me for the summer? She sings many different songs and tries to play them on Mimi's piano. She counts to 14. She watches after her baby brother. She loves to play outside. One of her newest favorite things to do is to lay down in the bathtub.

Updates on Liam...

He sleeps when he wants to sleep...but we're working on that. Nights are getting much better and he's giving us some 3 1/2 - 4 hour stretches at night...sometimes! :) He started smiling last week, but we haven't been able to catch it on camera. His new best friend is his binky...as long as Makayla doesn't run off with it to play with it, we're all much happier. He is growing out of his newborn clothes and getting quite heavy. He continues to look more and more like Seth.

We could not have been blessed with two more beautiful children. We are so thankful!

Makayla's First X-Ray

Poor Makayla...woke up this morning and her arm was limp...

When Seth put her to bed last night, she shrieked when he put her in bed. He turned on the light to check her out. She was holding her hand funny. He looked for a bite or a sting and didn't find anything. She asked for her blanket and fell asleep. When I got her up this morning, she was crying and wouldn't use her arm...long story short...after a visit to the ped's office and 3 x-rays, she was diagnosed with nursemaid's elbow (her elbow came came out of socket) and everything worked itself back into place. Makayla was such a trooper and was so brave. I am just so thankful that she is okay.

Feeling better...

Oh, Daddy!

I am so fortunate that Seth is such a wonderful daddy. He is a fabulous husband, so I should have only guessed that he'd be an amazing father. There have been many times that he has just melted my heart...
...the first time he held Makayla and Liam.
...the stuffed musical bunny he surprised Makayla with her first Christmas...and the rocking horse her second.
...the way he takes such pride in washing Makayla's hair each night...and now Liam's.
...when he cuddles on the couch with Makayla...to watch football.
and last night...
...when he made a special trip to the store after work because a co-worker told him they had Dora Crocs. He came home with not just one, but two pair (her current size AND the next size up), a Dora t-ball set, and a lifejacket (yes, Herb, he is planning his first kayak trip with her at the lake at the end of the month!) Makayla's eye's lit up when she saw that her daddy was home from work, but did so even more when he shared the presents with her...melted a mama's heart! She put on her shoes immediately (all by herself) and ran around playing in them all evening. She LOVED her t-ball set as well. Guess what she had to put on first thing this morning?! Her Dora Crocs! Too cute!

an updated photo of Liam...he's a thinker!

adorable, TINY, little hand

For Father's Day, Seth treated himself and his father to a Bruce Springstein concert. So, I wasn't supposed to get him any gifts...instead, I borrowed an idea from my friend Cheryl. I dressed the children up in Seth's clothes, took pictures of them, and then framed the cutest ones (thanks Mom for helping me!) Sounds strange, but look how cute...
