5 months old

Well, before Liam turns SIX MONTHS OLD, I probably should post his 5 month crib shot. Cuter than ever!

I'll have to post Makayla's later to compare...it's saved on the laptop...which is not working.

I'm thankful that the children are both finally healthy and that we are approaching Christmas. I LOVE this time of year! I do promise to post more later. There is so much to update!

Pumpkins and Purr-fection

Makayla got very excited about Halloween this year and was even more excited to trick-or-treat. She was an adorable kitty and was very proud of her pumpkin brother! I must say, they were both pretty cute!

Sticky Situation

Mom, Makayla, and I used some of the apples from our apple picking adventure to make caramel apples. Makayla was more interested in eating the sprinkles, but it was fun nonetheless!

Pumpkin Carving Time..a "DORA" ble!!!

Decisions, decisions...Makayla had to decide what she wanted her pumpkin to be carved into...Scooby Doo, Sponge Bob, Dora, or a silly face. And the winner was...DORA! Thank goodness her daddy is crafty...and patient!

Seth carved, Makayla stirred the bowl of pumpkin seeds, and Liam and I were singing and dancing around the kitchen...some things never change. We all stayed very entertained!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!

10 Apples Up on Top...

...that's what it felt like at the apple orchard! We went to the orchard on Saturday, only to be rained out. We had some cider and apple donuts and decided to go to the children's museum instead. Makayla LOVED it. It had so many more exhibits than our museum at home. After lunch down town, we went to the hotel for naps...at least Liam napped. Makayla was looking too forward to swimming in the indoor pool and cookies at "tea time."

I'm glad we waited to hit the orchard until Sunday. It was BEAUTIFUL! We picked pink ladies and fujis. There were so many people picking apples that there were only apples in the tops of the trees (hince the Seuss reference). Thank goodness we're tall!

We finished off the weekend with a dual birthday party for mom and me! Can't complain about that!

Pics from our weekend get away:

Makayla pretending to be a ghost...pretty scary!

We're planning on making some caramel apples tomorrow...and eventually maybe a pie. Yum!

Random Ramblings...

Okay, so here I go again...not sure how I always get so behind on blogging...well, I have a few guesses. :)

Mom broke her ankle several weeks ago swinging with Makayla. She has been out of commission for a while...she will be able to start putting some weight on her foot toward the end of this week. It has been hard on Makayla (not as hard as on Mom) not to play with Mimi like she'd like to, but they're still buddies.

My friends, Mary and Beth, came over to celebrate my birthday. They let themselves in the house, baked a cake, and asked for my assistance in making icing. We had a great time decorating the cakes...lots of giggling as always!

Liam continues to grow, change, and melt my heart! He is a cuddlebug and a giggler. I love spending time with him.

Makayla asks if Liam can join her in the tub. It is so cute to watch them "play" together. It won't be long until he can sit on his own and really join her for some play time.

Makayla has been more interested in holding Liam lately...he's just a little heavier (and more wiggly) than she realizes.

Liam has not rolled over yet. Seth and I think he's just being stubborn. He is so close...but once he realizes he's about to go over, he stops. He loves to lay on his side...even sleeps like that, but he WILL NOT roll over. Stinker! :)

He knows it!

The kids have both been sick...Makayla with a cold and Liam with bronchiolitous. I've been able to take some time off work to stay home with them. While Liam was napping one day, Makayla and I decorated some pumpkins.

4 months old

Liam went for his four month check-up on Tuesday. He is certainly growing!

Updates on Liam:

He SQUEALS with delight!
He giggles more often.
He is recognizing more people.
He clasps his hands together.
He "talks" with his mouth closed at times...so cute!
He LOVES his Sissy.
He is rolling to one side...so close to rolling over.
He enjoys his rice cereal.
He is starting to mimic.

Crib shots:
Liam Jackson
15lbs. 15 oz.
25 3/4 inches

Makayla Rose
16 lbs.
27 inches

Funny how much bigger Makayla was than Liam is now! She's our tall little lady...we'll see what the future holds for Lil' Liam!

A Few Firsts

Liam is eating solids! Well, kind of...he started cereal this week. With Makayla, we waited until she was 6-months old to offer her any type of solid food. Liam is just HUNGRY. He watches us eat, and he just needs some more substance. Every night at dinner, he eats a bowl of rice cereal...tonight, he ate TWO!

Liam also wants to be ON THE GO! Despite the fact that his feet don't even touch the floor, I tried him out in his walker...he enjoyed it. Lil' cutie! :)

Pumpkin Time!!!

Last Saturday was absolutely beautiful, so...we headed to the pumpkin patch. Makayla has been talking about going to the pumpkin patch for weeks. It was exciting to watch her enjoy this excursion so much...
