Loving the exciting times...

This past weekend, Seth and I took the kids to DC to see Disney on Ice Princess Wishes.  I won the tickets from a local radio station.  I had been trying for about a week.  Makayla requested to listen to her Princess CD, but I convinced her to let me listen to the radio station...I just had this feeling we were going to win.  I called, like I had everyday...and was caller number six.  You have to be kidding?!  I called right back, and ended up being caller ten.  I was the winner of four tickets!  Woohoo!!!!  Seth and I didn't get overly excited because we figured the seats wouldn't be that great.  In reality, they were EXCELLENT seats. Seven princesses performed, as did Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy.  This was enough to keep both kids quite entertained.

Makayla hates to have her picture taken...had to sneak one!

Liam cheesing it us!
So, now when do we break the news to the kids that WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!!  I am SO excited.  We will be going in July...5 months away!

Even sooner than that...my brother gets married.  I think there are 24 days until the wedding.  It seems like they were just announcing their engagement.  I am honored to be a bridesmaid, am thrilled to see Makayla as a flower girl, and CAN'T wait to see my brother marry his soulmate.

These are our exciting times!

The Sweetest Valentines

It is hard to surpass the love a mother has for her children.  I love that there is a day set aside just to celebrate this love.  Our day included lots of hugs, kisses, candy, and pink pancakes.

 My sweetest valentines...

To hear the laughter...

From stomach bug...to pink eye...to one nasty virus...Liam and Makayla have had a rough couple of weeks.  We did make it back to the doctor today, only to confirm that the virus the children have in common is a yucky one.  This past week has involved fevers, lots of coughs, lots of tears, and lots of cuddles.  I hate to see my babies sick.  Thank goodness for time to take care of them.  I was thrilled when they both ate dinner this evening...it had been a while.  Dinner was followed by playtime and LAUGHTER.  I hadn't realized how much I had missed hearing that this week until the rooms were filled with it once more.  Thank goodness!

And for more laughter...while Makayla was eating this evening she said, "I take little bites and then choke it down!"  What?!  Now mind you, I fixed her favorite meal!  Oh, dear...I think she's back to her old self!
