Strawberry Picking

Makayla has a new favorite fruit...strawberries. We were able to spend some time as a family Saturday morning picking strawberries. Makayla enjoyed picking them, but seemed to enjoy eating them even more. She loved the bumpy wagon ride. Thank goodness it didn't put me into labor! :)

Picking strawberries last year...what a difference a year makes!

Seth says Tiger Woods' dad has nothing on him! Check out the photos of Daddy and Makayla playing some ball!

Enjoying a BEAUTIFUL day!

I love days that seem to last forever. We started early with donuts for breakfast and then headed to Skyline Drive for some family photos. The lighting and weather were PERFECT! Next, a stop for lunch, some shopping for pool toys, nap time, a pedicure, and then pool time with Makayla. Afterward, dinner, some ice cream, and more play time outside. I LOVE days like
today!
Okay, okay...just being silly in this one. You know I can't be serious for too long!

Anticipating the new baby

The ladies at church threw a baby shower for me last weekend. I wasn't expecting such a nice gesture, as they threw me a shower for Makayla. I was overwhelmed by all of the delicious food (yes, a huge priority of mine these days), adorable clothes, and good times with such dear, sweet ladies. Makayla had a great time and enjoyed helping open presents.

My two favorite ladies!

Lately, one of Makayla's favorite things to do is to go into her brother's room and play. She especially LOVES to play in his bed. Too cute! I hope she is equally excited even after he arrives!

Mother's Day

A day just for mothers? I've never quite understood the importance of Mother's Day until I was a mother myself. I cherish my mother, and am so thankful for the opportunity to be a mother. Makayla is my world, and she and her daddy made sure to make Mother's Day a special day for me. It started Friday with dinner with Seth's parents...Seth cooked AND brought me flowers and chocolate. Saturday started off with breakfast in bed made by my wonderful hubby and beautiful little girl. Sunday was spent with my family. Seth, once again did all of the grillin' and the kids wore me out with their playfulness. What an eventful weekend!

First Black Eye

Makayla attended a birthday party at the park a few weekends ago. She had so much fun socializing, cheesing for the camera, eating hot dogs and cake, and playing on the playground. She slipped and hit her face on a step, leaving her with her first black eye. She would NOT let me ice it. She was determined to get back on the horse...or slide, that is! As hard as it was for me to see her with a black eye...she still pulls it off with a little bit of "cute!"
Cheesing for the camera...our little ham!

Oh, the black eye...tears at a momma's heartstrings, but it could have been A LOT worse. Thankful it wasn't!

Playing Catch Up...Again!

The past two weeks have just felt like a whirlwind. So busy, yet so entertaining. Let's catch up...

Last week Makayla was rummaging through one of the kitchen cabinets. Usually, she finds some dishes to play with. She was quiet for a little bit (warning sign!), but then approached me with THIS in her mouth...

Why, you might ask?! I have no idea! She hasn't used a pacifier since she was five months old. She sure enjoyed this one though, and ran around with it all afternoon. Silly little girl!

Planting flowers - last Saturday morning, Makayla and I planted flowers. She enjoyed digging in the dirt, but didn't much like getting dirt on her hands. What am I going to do with her?! (Yes, she is in her PJs...once again, only in the country!)

Ready for the Kentucky Derby!
Makayla found this hat in one of her dresser drawers. She put it on and said, "Yee haw! I'm a cowboy!" Where she comes up with these things, I'm never quite sure, but she always keeps us laughing!!!

Swim class - Makayla started her Toddler and Me swim class on Monday. She LOVES the water. It's hard to keep her out. We're learing to use a wait command and then having her jump in the water. The waiting is the hardest part for her. She wants to jump right in!

Still feeling good - At nearly 35 weeks, I feel great. Some evenings I feel more tired than others, but keeping up with my favorite little lady somehow gives me the energy I need. I can't believe baby "brudder" will be here soon!

Diaper drop - My co-workers gave me the wonderful gift of a diaper drop yesterday. I couldn't believe how many diapers they gave me. They did the same when Makayla was born. We didn't buy diapers until she was six months old! I am thankful for such amazing friends!

Preparing for baby "brudder"
Last evening, Seth and I spent some time preparing the nursery. He worked on the crib and I hung valances. I'm so excited to see everything come together. We have some decorating yet to do, but I'm excited to see the crib up and ready. Won't be long now!
