Disney...the preparation

Seth and I had been anticipating our trip to Disney months before that package arrived in the mail from "Mickey."  The children had just a few weeks of anticipation...we finally made it down to our last week, and then final days until our departure.  Makayla and I decided to make a count down chart.  Each day we would take a picture documenting how many days left until our trip.  As you can imagine, each day she got a little sillier, and a little more excited...as did her mother.

On the day of our flight, I painted Mickey Mouse on each of Makayla's big toes, and we were off.

One of my favorite stories of the entire trip happened just shy of the Roanoke airport.  We stopped in a little town for a quick bite to eat.  Liam's eyes got big, he started looking all around, he looked at the restaurant and then shouted out, "We're at Disney World!"  I laughed so hard.  Bless his heart!

Once we settled into the airport, I allowed the children to get their backpacks to play with.  To their surprise, they had new Disney books and toys to play with packed inside.  Seth had fun playing too, as he staged a few photos of Buzz and Belle onlooking our plane.  The kids were so excited to see the plane arrive, and were even more excited to get that bird in the air.  We gave each child a lollipop for the flight, and came equipped with books, toys, and other snacks.  Liam was out within the first few minutes of the flight, and Makayla watched the movie UP with her daddy.

Once we arrived in Orlando, we hopped in our rental car, headed to a restaurant, and had breakfast for dinner...or at least the kids and I did...with LOTS of sugar.  At least Seth had a sensible dinner.

We loved our condo.  While we didn't stay at a Disney Resort, we couldn't have asked for a nicer home away from home.  Makayla and Liam got settled right in, and made themselves at home.

That just about sums up our first day...does that leave you wanting more???  To actually hear something about the fun stuff????  Tune in next post where I'll talk about our day at Magic Kingdom!
