A Different Easter

As you are probably well aware, I live for holidays and celebrations with family and friends. At Easter, it is such a special time to remember that our Savior is Risen. This was a different Easter for us, as Makayla was very sick with strep throat. She started with a fever on Thursday and then the sore throat set in late Friday night. We took her to the doctor's Saturday morning. She has been a trooper through the healing process, but it has been so hard watching her suffer. She is having a difficult time taking her medicine and she continues to run a fever yet today. Poor, sweet child!

We had to forego celebrations with family to cuddle at home instead. We did not attend church...the first time I think I've ever missed church on Easter Sunday...but got some much needed rest. We were able to see the Easter bunny on Friday, and Mimi brought eggs over for us to color on Saturday.

A few pics from our holiday:
Not sure what to think of the Easter bunny!

cuddling on the couch with Mommy, baby, and a frozen drink to soothe her throat

Hope the little one is feeling better soon. She is really growing! I think "big sister" is going to suit her.

Well, we missed you all too! It wasn't the same...I don't think you've ever missed celebrating Darrell's birthday either, have you? Don't worry, we'll have a "make-up" egg hunt as soon as Makayla is feeling better - the eggs are ready and waiting! I'm sure her cousins would be willing to volunteer to hunt along with her to make it authentic! We hope she's feeling better soon.
Love,
Mimi
P.S. Hey - we were some funny bunnies, weren't we?!

Makayla is adoreable :) I know that hunting easter eggs late will still be so much fun for her :)
